LOWER BACK PAIN REHAB AND PERFROMANCE — BRISBANE
Understand Pain.
Rebuild Trust.
Achieve Your Goals.
Specialist Exercise Physiology for back pain, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, and return to sport — with Michael Cook, Accredited Exercise Physiologist.
Your programme evolves as you do. Follow-up appointments track your progress, adjust loading and complexity, and keep you moving toward your goals — whether that is returning to daily activity, the gym, running or sport.
HOW IT WORKS
What to Expect From Your First Appointment
Your initial assessment is the foundation of everything that follows. It is a thorough, unhurried conversation and movement assessment — not a quick scan or a generic programme.
1. Comprehensive Assessment
Michael will take a detailed history of your pain, injury, lifestyle and goals. Movement, strength and functional capacity are assessed to build a clear clinical picture.
2. Individualised Programme Design
A structured, progressive exercise programme is designed specifically for you — based on your assessment findings, current capacity and the goals you want to achieve.
3. Ongoing Support & Progression

Michael Cook, AEP
Accredited Exercise Physiologist | ESSA Member
Michael Cook is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) with a clinical focus on back pain, musculoskeletal rehabilitation and return to sport. He holds a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science and a Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology, and is a member of Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA).
Michael's approach is grounded in current pain science and exercise physiology evidence. He believes that most people with back pain are more capable than they have been told — and that the right exercise programme, delivered with clear education and progressive loading, can produce lasting results.
Beyond Back Pain was founded to provide a genuinely individualised alternative to generic rehabilitation — one where every programme is built around the person, not the diagnosis.

CLIENT EXPERIENCES
What Clients Say
"I had been dealing with back pain for years and had seen multiple practitioners without lasting results. The approach here was completely different — Michael took the time to actually understand my situation and built a programme that made sense. I am back running and feel stronger than I have in years."
Sarah M.

"After my back surgery I was nervous about exercising again. The programme was progressive and well-explained — I never felt pushed beyond what I was ready for. I am now back at the gym and doing things I did not think I would be able to do again."
